What it is
Nafarelin (Synarel) is a GnRH agonist administered as an intranasal spray. It is FDA-approved for endometriosis and central precocious puberty. The intranasal route provides a different administration option than the depot injections of other GnRH agonists.
Mechanism of action
Same GnRH agonist mechanism as other agents in this class. The intranasal route requires multiple daily doses to maintain receptor desensitization, distinguishing it from depot formulations.
