Growth hormone support in Houston, built on a real workup.
Sleeping worse, recovering slower, holding more fat? Growth hormone support starts with a real workup — then foundations, hormone optimization, and GH-axis support where appropriate.

Sleeping worse, recovering slower, holding more fat?
Growth hormone is released in pulses, mostly during deep sleep, and it plays a role in body composition, recovery, sleep quality, and energy. Output declines steadily with age — and by the 40s and 50s, many people notice the effects: harder-won muscle, more stubborn fat, slower recovery from training, and lighter, less restorative sleep.
But those symptoms have many possible causes. Low testosterone or estrogen, thyroid problems, poor sleep, chronic stress, and insulin resistance can all look the same. That’s why growth hormone support at The Tide starts with a workup, not a product.
Depending on what we find, a plan may include sleep and training changes, hormone optimization, GH-releasing peptide therapy such as sermorelin when clinically appropriate, or referral to endocrinology when testing points to true growth hormone deficiency.
Three levels of growth hormone support.
Most patients need the first. Some benefit from the second. A small number need the third. We figure out which during consultation.
Foundations that drive GH naturally
Deep sleep, resistance training, adequate protein, limiting late-night eating and alcohol, and managing body fat. These are the biggest natural drivers of growth hormone release — and they’re where every plan starts.
Evidence: Strong · Well-established physiologyHormone optimization and GH-axis support
Correcting low testosterone, estrogen, or thyroid function often improves the same symptoms. For adults with documented age-related GH-axis decline, GH-releasing peptide therapy such as sermorelin may be considered.
Evidence: Moderate · Individualized to labs and symptomsEvaluation for true GH deficiency
When labs and history suggest adult growth hormone deficiency, formal testing and FDA-approved treatment are managed with endocrinology. We help coordinate that referral.
Evidence: Strong · Established diagnostic pathwayGrowth hormone follows sleep.
The largest growth hormone pulse of the day happens in the first hours of deep sleep. Fix the sleep, and you’ve done the most important thing.

The work that moves the needle.
Every growth hormone plan we build includes the basics — because without them, nothing else works as well.
- Protecting deep sleep — timing, alcohol, and screening for sleep apnea
- Resistance training two to four times per week
- Protein targets that support lean mass
- Ongoing tracking of body composition, energy, and labs as part of our longevity and performance care
From consultation to plan, in real medicine.
Every recommendation follows a workup — your labs, history, and goals determine what makes sense.
Initial consultation
In person at our Houston clinic. We discuss your sleep, energy, training, body composition, and goals — and what you’ve already tried.
Comprehensive labs
IGF-1, sex hormones, thyroid panel, metabolic markers, and any indication-specific testing.
Your plan
Your physician reviews the results with you and recommends a plan — foundations, hormone optimization, GH-axis support, endocrinology referral, or a combination.
Monitor & adjust
Follow-up labs and check-ins to track IGF-1, symptoms, and body composition. We adjust based on actual response.

What growth hormone support can — and can’t — do.
The benefits are real but gradual. Here’s what to realistically expect.
What a good plan can help with
- Deeper, more restorative sleep
- Gradual improvements in body composition alongside training
- Better recovery between workouts
- Identifying hormone or thyroid issues that were driving the symptoms
What it can’t do
- Replace sleep, training, and nutrition
- Reverse aging or promise specific results
- Be appropriate for patients with active or recent cancer
- Be recommended without labs and a real clinical workup
Some therapies discussed on this page are prescribed off-label or are not FDA-approved for the uses described. Information on this page is provided for educational purposes; clinical decisions are made individually during physician consultation. See our full disclaimers for additional context.
Before you book.
How do I know if my growth hormone is low?
Symptoms alone can’t tell you — they overlap with low testosterone, thyroid issues, poor sleep, and stress. IGF-1 is the primary screening marker, interpreted alongside your other hormones, history, and symptoms. Confirming true adult growth hormone deficiency requires formal stimulation testing, which we coordinate with endocrinology when indicated.
Do you prescribe growth hormone?
FDA-approved recombinant growth hormone products are available for diagnosed growth hormone deficiency and are managed by endocrinology. We do not prescribe growth hormone for anti-aging or general wellness. When testing suggests true deficiency, we coordinate a referral.
What is sermorelin?
Sermorelin is a GH-releasing peptide that encourages the pituitary to release its own growth hormone in natural pulses. It may be considered for adults with documented age-related GH-axis decline, after a workup. Read more on our sermorelin page.
How much does it cost?
Consultations start at $49 (see pricing). Lab and medication costs depend on what your plan includes, and we review them with you before anything starts. Our ongoing program fees cover physician oversight, lab review, and monitoring.
Do you accept insurance?
We don’t bill insurers directly. Some lab work and FDA-approved medications may be covered by your plan, and we can provide documentation suitable for HSA/FSA submission.
